BIM Automation Support

This role is designed to provide technical support. If you are a subject matter expert in the use of the 3D CAD software for BIM and have expertise in managing automation related to deliverables from these CAD applications, then you are suited for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Will be working within a multidisciplinary project team taking instruction from other members of the team, but equally able to work under your own initiative.
• Understand the principles of Safety In Design and their application.
• Design the drawings according to markups and specifications.
• Translate and convert hand drawings and sketches into CAD systems.
• Read, evaluate and interpret designs and drawings.
• Create and implement work methodologies and strategies.
• Document and update all drawings.
• Working within the company's quality-assured delivery processes and delivering output to the required level of quality.

About the opportunity

• Relevant proven ability as an electrical CAD designer/draftsman/technician in Water, waste water, Utility corridor development/Smart city Infrastructure and Aviation projects.
• Prepare electrical drawings for all stages of design such as:

• Single and Key Line Diagrams
• Schematic wiring diagram
• Switchyard layouts, Substation Equipment layouts and Cross sections
• Cable tray/Cable routing, lighting, earthing and lightning protection layouts for Substations.
• HV & LV Power distribution Network layout for Utilities
• Underground Duct routing layout, Manhole and Duct configuration details
• Road lighting layout and LDB schedule
• High mast area lighting layout
• Earthing and Lightning protection layouts
• Cable schedule.
• Bulk MTO

• Proven ability working in a multidisciplinary design team environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation
• Proven ability in 3D modelling through Aecosim, REVIT software and (or) Civil 3D etc.
• An understanding of relevant National and International industry electrical standards

his person will work alongside other talented individuals to support project teams on proposals, planning, design, and delivery tasks. The project delivery support ensures the best tools and systems framework are configured and deployed based on project requirements and company goals for innovation.

Job Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Collaborate with engineers and the design team to advance and complete a variety of project types.
• Produce conceptual and final construction design plans for utilities, grading, and stormwater.
• Produce preliminary and final drawings in accordance with company and client standards while advancing the use of 3D modeling along with project site grading surfacing within the design team.
• Coordinate with complimentary disciplines at a project level which may include members of the structural, electrical, mechanical, geometry, and architectural team.
• Assist and coordinate with team members on construction activities such as shop drawing review.
• Support design services during construction activities.
• Produce spreadsheets that summarize quantities and estimated unit costs.
• Proficient in QGIS, Civil3D, AutoCAD

SENIOR BIM MODELLER – ELV/ICT

Role accountabilities:

§ Perform variety of modeling assignments under minimal supervision.

§ Interface with engineers, our clients, and other consultants through clear communication and drawings.

§ Ability to develop 3D BIM models using Revit on all different LOD levels.

§ Managing CAD/BIM deliverables for multiple projects to completion within time.

§ Responsible for complete clash detection and clash resolution for projects, with other disciplines.

§ Adhere to BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.

§ Knowledge of BIM Protocol, ISO 19650 and related BIM standards

§ Taking responsibility for technical quality assurance and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/ modifications.

§ Adhere to the schedule and quality requirements.

§ Undertake self-checking initiatives whilst maintaining quality control of junior BIM modelers works and ensure adherence to all relevant design criteria and standards
