As an HV Underground Transmission Engineer, you will work closely with regional and global transmission and cable experts within Jacobs to support and/or lead ongoing projects as well as business development and proposal support with a variety of clients including renewable developers, transmission owner/developers as well as utilities.

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

• Develop HV/EHV cabling systems specifications, concept/detailed design and design review, estimation, site supervision and support as required.
• Provide technical support to the team on all aspects of HV cable system engineering and design.
• Prepare specifications power cable route specifications, and reports and progress reports.
• Confirm correct and accurate interface with other engineering functions involved in the projects,
• Attend and conduct internal and external meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
• Support factory inspections Test (FAT).
• Perform technical calculations including cable size, rating calculations, electromechanical and thermomechanical forces and EMF calculations, heath induced voltage calculations.
• Perform design reviews, and verification of design.
• Confirm that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works. Formally request any missing information in sufficient time to allow the program to proceed without delay.
• Confirm that inspection and test plans are completed as required by the specifications, including a check of dimension accuracy and quality.

The role includes application of technical expertise in the provision of contaminated sites assessment, risk assessment, and physical and contaminant hydrogeology at operating and non-operating facilities across Canada.

This key role will be supporting the growth and building the technical capability of the Canadian environmental team. You’ll be a technical and project lead, delivering technically excellent environmental services. You’ll be key to help drive client and business development, identifying strategic opportunities and supporting the winning of those opportunities. As a
Process Engineer, you will work with members of our team to deliver ongoing and upcoming projects in the water industry. You will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced technical subject matter experts to support municipal and industrial treatment process planning, modeling, and design based on established standards and software.

You will use your expertise in process design hydraulics, modelling, water chemistry and quality, physical and biological treatment processes and equipment, and applicable regulations to produce meaningful solutions to local, regional, and national treatment project challenges. You will participate in the development of engineering studies, reports, drawings, specifications, contract documents, proposals, and cost estimates with limited direction; and provide construction administration services and field engineering services during construction as needed.
