Quality Manager – Africa Tax

Your role will focus on further strengthening and innovating our existing processes, whilst enabling sustainable growth and consistent high-quality service delivery to our clients.

You will be required to:

  1. Engage with leaders across our Africa business.
  2. Provide consultation support for pursuit governance and engagement quality controls.
  3. Support quality, independence and risk management programmes and processes.
  4. Innovate existing processes, in response to our rapidly changing environment.
  5. Team with a wide stakeholder group across service lines, competencies, functions and geographies.
  6. Guide teams on best practice service delivery methods, tools and practices.
  7. Interpret and apply EY Service Quality policies.

Your key responsibilities

The responsibilities listed in this document are not exhaustive and are flexible to accommodate the needs of the business, Africa Quality Projects and overall Firm requirements.

Amongst other things your role will include:

  • Managing business risk through driving compliance to firm risk management policies and procedures, whilst achieving an appropriate balance between risk and control.

  • Spearheads key quality and risk management programmes and procedures.
  • Improves existing procedures considering the continually changing environment.
  • Collaborates with diverse stakeholders across service lines, competencies, functions and locations.
  • Develops controls and governance and identifies, evaluates and manages tax-related risk.
  • Advises engagement teams on tax quality-related issues.
  • Aids in the creation of local policies and the implementation of global policies.
  • Creates routine Tax Quality alerts and similar publications.
  • Supports the maintenance of Tax Quality databases.
  • Assist in supporting the near shore Regional Delivery Centre based in Mauritius.

Lead the execution of and compliance with EY Procurement and Supply Chain Global Policy, incl.:

  • You will support our clients in the technology transformation journey, actively becoming a trusted advisor in PM subject matters for both clients and EY colleagues.
  • You will provide consultation and recommendations based on client’s requirement and develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs.
  • You will work with various teams to ensure that client’s requirement, budget and milestones for projects are met.

As part of our expansion, we are seeking experienced consultants at the Senior level with expertise in the following areas:

  • Facilitating or implementing Agile methodologies (including roles such as product owner, scrum master, agile coaching, and sprint design)
  • Outlining and framing digital transformation plans (including scaled agility, digitalizing customer relations, and promoting responsible digital practices)
  • Supporting strategic guidance and operational implementation of digital programs (encompassing business design, development oversight, deployment, and change management);
  • Establishing innovative solutions aimed at performance optimization and risk management (such as Artificial Intelligence, RPA, Chatbots, cloud governance, and collaborating with startups)

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Provide technology advisory
  • Lead technology-related activities and independently deliver client results
  • Add value to your clients through your industry, process, and/or sector knowledge
  • With a higher education background, you have at least 5 years of experience in technology either in a consulting firm or within a major international corporation
  • A strong analytical mindset, allowing you to deeply understand topics and implement successful transformation strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with a knack for clear articulation
  • Prior experience in leading transformation projects in direct collaboration with executive committees
  • Potential certifications such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, SAFe Agilist, Prince 2, PMP, Agile PM, PMI-ACP
  • Fluency in spoken and written English in a professional setting
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

Your role will focus on further strengthening and innovating our existing processes, whilst enabling sustainable growth and consistent high-quality service delivery to our clients.

You will be required to:

  1. Engage with leaders across our Africa business.

Your key responsibilities

  • Facilitates Global Tax Quality Reviews and Local internal quality reviews.
  • Provides teams with best practices methodologies, tools and practices for service delivery.
  • Spearheads key quality and risk management programmes and procedures.
  • Improves existing procedures considering the continually changing environment.
  • Collaborates with diverse stakeholders across service lines, competencies, functions and locations.
  • Develops controls and governance and identifies, evaluates and manages tax-related risk.
  • Advises engagement teams on tax quality-related issues.
  • Aids in the creation of local policies and the implementation of global policies.
  • Creates routine Tax Quality alerts and similar publications.
  • Supports the maintenance of Tax Quality databases.
  • Assist in supporting the near shore Regional Delivery Centre based in Mauritius.
