Payroll Assistant - Cork (Tax)

Full-Time – Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and processing of payrolls for clients, under supervision.
• Support the team in ensuring payroll returns are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Help maintain and update employee payroll records.
• Respond to basic payroll-related queries from clients and employees, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations and the preparation of standard payroll reports.
• Learn to use payroll software and technology platforms (e.g., Quantum/QPOSS, Excel).
• Work closely with team members to deliver a high level of client service.
• Adhere to internal controls and best practices to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Stay informed about changes in Irish payroll legislation and Revenue guidelines.

Skills & Experience

• 0–2 years of experience in payroll, finance, or a related field (internships or part-time roles welcome).
• Interest in developing a career in payroll and tax.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Outlook; experience with payroll software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple tasks.
• Discretion in handling confidential information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or related fields.
• Advanced English (oral and written).
• Knowledge in financial analysis, accounting, and business valuation.

You have:

Role Description:

• Leads the delivery of solution or infrastructure development services for a large or more complex project, using advanced technical capabilities

• Should be highly data driven and able to write complex data transformation programs using PySpark, Databricks, Python.
• Experience in data integration and data processing using Spark and Python.
• Has hands-on experience in providing performing tuning techniques to resolve the performance issues in the data pipelines.
