Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and participate in SPA advisory engagements for acquisitions or disposals by private equity investors, funds, or strategic corporate clients. This includes working closely with clients, their bankers, and legal advisers, and performing tasks such as cash, debt, and working capital analysis, pricing schedule preparation, and financial reviews of the SPA and Completion Accounts.
  • Advise clients on transaction mechanisms and financial analysis by providing insights on the most suitable purchase price mechanisms, analysing financial results through diligence findings and interviews, and supporting negotiations with clients to agree on detailed and compelling outputs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal contacts and external clients to develop a portfolio of high-value projects, and collaborate with other EY service teams to deliver an integrated approach to clients.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Possess a bachelor or master degree in accounting, business, finance, or economics, and be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, CAANZ, or an international equivalent.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a professional services or chartered accounting environment, or in a financial performance and analysis or mergers & acquisitions role at a corporate organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop, build, and manage relationships with multiple clients and teams, both external and internal. Experience working with senior stakeholders on multiple engagements in a Transaction Diligence role or mergers and acquisitions environment.

Your day to day

  • Perform Market Research, audits of industries and analysis of potential new verticals to identify new merchants for the enterprise segment.
  • Qualitative Analysis of leads, assist in engaging with merchants that meet enterprise criteria.
  • Assist in analyzing payment flow of existing merchants and identify integration improvements as well as potential upsells of PayPal products.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of merchants in conjunction with the Enterprise Sales team, helping with the collection of documents from merchants.
  • Support the Iberia team in daily activities, competitor analysis, internal presentations, newsletters etc.

What do you need to bring

  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
  • Good team player with a collaborative approach and be able to create quality relationships quickly, whilst also working well independently.
  • Have a good sense of initiative, self-motivation and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge or payments industry or ecommerce is preferable
