Your qualifications and experience should include:
- BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in software development, architecture, programming, design, and analysis.
- Expertise in programming languages and technologies including Java, Python, Golang, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience delivering high performance, active-active, scalable services (Enterprise Java/J2EE, Web Services, Big Data/NoSQL).
- Track record monitoring and analyzing system performance, isolating issues or bottlenecks that could impact reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL programming (Oracle, Cassandra, Amazon Aurora) including both relational database schema designs and schema-less systems.
- Hands-on experience in Amazon Web Services, at enterprise scale is required including familiarity with DynamoDB, Aurora, EC2, and other AWS services.
- Experience executing performance testing and/or development efforts for a complex, high throughput system.
- Solid understanding of the path(s) customer requests flow from web browser to back-end.
- Extensive experience with agile development methodologies and test-driven development processes required.
- Experience with open source technology stacks and scripting technologies required.
- Ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests.

Job Purpose:
You’ll help develop and shape the AI strategy of the business, with a focus on bringing third-party solutions in-house, while also planning for any potential expansion into generative use cases. What You’ll Do: (
Strategic Planning: Lead the development of a comprehensive strategy for integrating and deploying intelligence technologies in accordance with ethical, safety, and privacy standards. Work with senior leadership to align with business goals and forge consensus on strategy.
Sony-First Technology Collaboration: Prioritize evaluation of proprietary AI models and tools developed by Sony companies, ensuring these solutions are thoroughly assessed and leveraged when beneficial. Provide feedback to Sony teams working on such tools and help them improve the product before any potential use on Extreme’s platforms.
Facilitating the Transition to First-Party Tools: Assess and oversee the transition of AI solutions from external vendors to in-house or Sony-developed offerings. Produce a structured plan that will ensure compatibility, scalability, and alignment with internal systems and objectives.
Vendor and Technology Partner Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and technology partners, with special consideration for partners that will be needed to facilitate the transition to first-party tools.
Research and Evaluation: Conduct research on emerging technologies and generative applications, assessing the potential impacts on (or opportunities for) the business. Regularly attend industry conferences or specialized functions to network with peers and learn about developing trends.

Job Description:
Serve as the field team’s Technical Guru leading both pre-and post-sales design and planning sessions.
Work hands-on with customers to demonstrate and communicate implementation best practices on Sony’s Networked Solutions portfolio including IP Live, Nevion, and IP-enabled hardware.
Perform a consultative role in understanding the customer workflow and separating what are requirements and what are wants and how best to position the solution portfolio.
Present IP-based technologies and solutions to broadcasters, telecom operators and business partners
Act as the technical solution owner and engage in discussions with customers throughout the entire sales cycle.
Analyze customer requirements for next generation IP-based broadcast solutions.
Design high-level solutions that meet customer requirements.
Develop detailed solution designs and Bill-of-Materials.
Inform product management (and PPB) about requests for new features and applications
Responsibilities:
Lead the technical definition, create solution proposals and support SOW development and execution
Lead and participate in remote or onsite Proof-of-Concepts at customer premises
Analyze and data mine information provided by customers for structure and content validity
Analyze customer requirements during the pre-sales process and oversee the implementation of the solution during the delivery phase
Define and validate Sony solutions to meet customer goals and objectives
Work with customers during the technical planning phase to integrate the Sony solutions into the customer’s environment.
Work with internal technical teams for product placement and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability.
Document technical and commercial requirements to ensure continuity of communications both external and internal; externally towards customers, partners, and consultants, and internally with Product Management, Professional Services, Customer Support, and Management
Capture customer feedback on product enhancements and challenge the organization through ongoing innovation
Focus on product roadmaps to constantly improve the value of our service offerings for our customers and hold vendors accountable for deliverables, including by not limited to technical specifications, implementation specifications and service delivery standards
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in related technical field. Master’s degree or higher preferred
5-7 years of experience designing and deploying live production environments for broadcast television
3+ years of experience with designing, deploying, and supporting complex SMPTE ST 2110 IP-based media environments
A strong understanding of video contribution technologies including deep knowledge of modern compression algorithms such as JPEG2000, JPEG XS, H.264, H.265, and TICO
Excellent verbal and written communicator in English (other language skills are a plus)
High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organization
Strong organization and time‐management skills
Strong knowledge of IP networking and ideally also of broadcast technologies
Proven track record in technical solution selling
Comfortable in a virtual working environment and working from home
Ability to travel between 90 to 120 days per year
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $101,000 to $134,000. Your qualifications and experience should include:
- BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in software development, architecture, programming, design, and analysis.
- Expertise in programming languages and technologies including Java, Python, Golang, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience delivering high performance, active-active, scalable services (Enterprise Java/J2EE, Web Services, Big Data/NoSQL).
- Track record monitoring and analyzing system performance, isolating issues or bottlenecks that could impact reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL programming (Oracle, Cassandra, Amazon Aurora) including both relational database schema designs and schema-less systems.
- Hands-on experience in Amazon Web Services, at enterprise scale is required including familiarity with DynamoDB, Aurora, EC2, and other AWS services.
- Experience executing performance testing and/or development efforts for a complex, high throughput system.
- Solid understanding of the path(s) customer requests flow from web browser to back-end.
- Extensive experience with agile development methodologies and test-driven development processes required.
- Experience with open source technology stacks and scripting technologies required.
- Ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests.
