Reporting to thePayroll Director’srole will be responsible for developing payroll strategies, advising senior management, and leading a team within a shared services framework. The Payroll Director will manage programs, providers, and staff, ensuring accurate payroll data compilation, analysis, and reporting. They also develop and maintain systems, procedures, and policies for payroll compliance and requirements and well as establishing partnerships with internal stakeholders and developing strategic initiatives and goals.


What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead the delivery of accurate and timely payroll for ~10K US employees and a small Canadian population, while contributing to payroll strategy development.
  • Oversee daily payroll operations using UKG Pro (US) and ADP (Canada), with future transition to Workforce Now.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Benefits, Compensation, Stock Tax, and Global Mobility to ensure consistent and efficient payroll processes.
  • Act as the go-to expert for UKG Pro and manage integrations with Kronos (timekeeping) and Workday (HRIS).
  • Partner with HR to implement compliant, end-to-end payroll processes that ensure timely pay.
  • Manage relationships with payroll service providers, maintaining high service levels and seamless collaboration across platforms.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax withholding, garnishments, and deductions.
  • Communicate payroll updates and analytics clearly to employees and stakeholders.
  • Support audits and financial reconciliations while maintaining strong internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Stay informed on payroll regulations and labor laws to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Deliver actionable payroll analytics to support business decisions.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Requires bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field including CPP (Certified Payroll Professional, American Payroll Association).
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience, including a minimum of 7 years of prior management experience.
  • Experience in implementing and managing a large multi-state payroll provider required
  • Proven experience with SaaS Payroll systems (Ultimate Software/UKG Pro) and HR CRM (Workday).

What a typical day looks like:

  • Drive EH&S Excellence: Lead and contribute to overall EH&S excellence by providing strategic direction and technical expertise to initiatives aimed at improving EH&S performance while minimizing risks and liabilities across multiple disciplines, including industrial hygiene, machine safety, hazardous waste management, and environmental permitting.
  • Mentor and Coach: Guide and mentor site EH&S professionals in executing compliance responsibilities, enhancing their skillsets, and building overall team capability.
  • Leadership Engagement: Provide effective leadership and engage with each site to achieve best-in-class EH&S performance.
  • Cultural Change: Collaborate with regional leadership to drive cultural change around EH&S, fostering high levels of employee engagement.
  • Leverage Best Practices: Implement and articulate EH&S goals, objectives, initiatives, policies, procedures, and key performance indicators across the region.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team,

  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading EH&S programs and initiatives across multiple sites or locations.
  • Experience in managing EHS compliance and regulatory matters, including OSHA regulations, EPA environmental requirements, and state/local safety standards.
  • Workers' Compensation Expertise: Proven experience managing workers' compensation programs, including incident reporting, claim management, and loss control measures. Understanding of the workers' compensation claims process and best practices for injury management and prevention.
  • Insurance Industry Experience: Experience interacting with insurance companies, including negotiating coverage, premiums, and managing claims related to workplace incidents. Knowledge of risk assessment and management practices necessary for determining adequate insurance coverage for EH&S liabilities.
  • Technical Proficiencies: Strong understanding of incident investigation techniques, root cause analysis, and risk assessment methodologies. Proficient in using EH&S management systems and software for reporting, tracking, and analysis of compliance metrics and incidents.
  • Training and Development: Ability to develop and implement effective training programs that raise employee awareness and understanding of safety hazards and compliance requirements. Experience in coaching and leading cross-functional teams in safety practices and compliance.
  • Certifications: Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar qualifications preferred. Active participation in professional organizations related to safety, health, and environmental management.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey EH&S policies, procedures, and training effectively. Capability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives, managers, and front-line employees.
  • Crisis Management: Experience in developing and executing emergency response plans and conducting emergency drills. Ability to handle and mitigate crises related to EH&S incidents efficiently.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions related to safety and compliance performance. Experience using data analytics to improve EH&S systems and processes.

  • Audits processes, tests and inspects products and/or develops, compiles and evaluates statistical data to define and maintain quality and reliability of products.
  • Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause research, internal corrective actions and supplier correction actions.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to define quality and reliability standards.
  • Selects processes to be audited from primarily the manufacturing areas and checks for a variety of features, including ESD (electro-static discharge) and handling practices, documentation, training and process integrity.
  • Selects products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical or cosmetic characteristics.
  • Records audit data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards, programs or reports to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Perform calibration on inspection tools e.g. micrometers, calipers height gages etc.
  • Maintain gage track program, print list of gages due for calibration in the beginning of each month and follow up with calibration.
  • Send gages out for calibration, maintain calibration records.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for research data.
  • Download quality information from quality system to be used for QA reports.
  • Research for engineering test results and implements process changes to resolve problems.
  • Performs out of box audits (OBA) as required.
  • Provides factory hold up to identify and resolve issues associated with purchased parts, materials and manufacturing.
  • May be required to perform receiving inspection.
  • Review at the beginning of the shift the Quality Auditors assistance and validated the Check List.
  • Scrap disposition at MRB in less than 24 hours.
  • Assure that the Customer implementation activities are in place.
  • Meet the SSYMA requirements (boats, goggles, gloves, ear plugs).
  • Review the SPC data and confirm the actions are effective.
  • Validate the tooling and gauges are working properly (microscope, magnifier, etc).

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, technical training, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 2 years of related experience.
