Your key responsibilities

  • Assist with local on-site and off-site support for firm-sponsored wavespace functions/meetings, including a deep understanding and knowledge of network infrastructure, lab/wavespace internal networks, and the EY network.
  • Assist with the deployment of hardware and software to end users (including the installation, configuration, and testing of more complex firm hardware).
  • Assist with provisioning and de-provisioning processes, including setting up hardware/software for the wavespace support team.
  • Assist with (or coordinate) the repair of end-user hardware and/or lab hardware and the reinstallation of software as necessary to resolve end-user incidents as well as wavespace-specific technologies (e.g., MS Surface Hubs, iPads, Microsoft Surface tablets, Digital Signal Processors, Microphone systems, wireless presentation systems, etc.), including the maintenance of these technologies.
  • Support technology applications including MURAL, Miro, Zeetings, Slido, Co Create, and others.
  • Additional applications – Bluejeans, Webex, Teams.
  • AV components – Screens, Projectors, Audio/Visual matrix, Digital Signal processors, Cameras, Oblong, etc.
  • Additional AV Components – Raritan (KVM), Box computers, NVX Endpoints, ChromeSticks, Analogway, 360 Cameras.
  • Support AV software – Ventuz, Light Key (Astera Lights, Titan Lights), AppSpace, Crestron, QSYS, Gitbash, Solstice, OSC Designer, Analogway.
  • Support lab-specific hardware - Samsung Flip, MS HoloLens / Oculus Rift, 3D Printer, Digital fabrication machines.
  • Additional Hardware – Oculus Go, Surface Studio, Drones.
  • Operating System Support – Windows 10, Apple Mac OS (Both EY loadset and consumer) at an Intermediate Level.
  • Knowledge in utilizing NAS capabilities and secure storage.
  • Understand and interpret specialized network configurations (i.e., enablement of AirCast for iOS devices on the network).
  • Maintain on-site servers for event use (Value Creation Tool) – Windows Kiosk mode and Kiosk mode on iPads.
  • Communicate and manage relationships with vendors.
  • Analyze network issues and report appropriately to have them addressed quickly (i.e., Cisco proprietary).
  • Track and resolve all related incidents and service requests in the Ticket Management System; identify sources and trends of technical problems to prevent future occurrences.
  • Under minimal supervision, provide after-hours service for escalated issues from the Service Desk, Team Lead, or wavespace stakeholder.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the EY Technology organization and service offerings to identify how best to address end-user technology needs and incidents.
  • Understand the Firm’s business and organization sufficiently to anticipate and resolve end-user technology issues that affect the productivity of Firm personnel.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

Strong analytical skills are required to address end-user incidents escalated from a customer in the wavespace session or the capability to anticipate and resolve an issue.

Description of Role

As a supervisor, you will be allocated a client portfolio and will be required to work with the managers across the EY footprint on client engagements and support them with the overall coordination of the various accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

The following will be your main responsibilities:

Coordination ofExpatriate Tax, Immigration, and Payroll

Coordination of Tax and Accounting compliance services on engagements across the continent.

Building strong relationships with client and colleagues across the globe

Progress reporting and notes from meetings (i.e. preparation of authorization lists and compliance calendars at the commencement of the tax filing season including regular status reporting, client reports and other material, query trackers, billing spreadsheets and minutes)

Expatriate Tax, Immigration, and Payroll.

Work-in-progress (WIP) and debtor management

Assisting with proposal processes and gathering of fees across the Africa sub area

Management of out-of-scope process across the various engagements

Manage stakeholder expectations and adhere to deadlines and KPI’s including drafting of contracting for external providers, clients and interfirm agreements

Curiosity to learn and grow for the benefit of the coordination function as well as in their personal career

Risk processes on all accounts including

Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask

The office will offer AV technology across 7 floors (+ Ground) consisting of the following capacity:

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the support team in Johannesburg, South Africa that provides in-office support on Audio Visual equipment in meeting rooms.
  • Strategic planning and support must be provided to OSTS for other (non-Joburg) offices in South Africa to ensure meeting room technology is at the same standard as it applies in Johannesburg
  • Develop and maintain a support system that serves as the key interface for end-users to log requests for support
  • Maintain an efficient process to receive room reservations for planned and ad hoc meetings.
  • Coordinate the daily preparation of meeting room inspections and preparations
  • Coordinate live web cast events ensuring that all stakeholders – internal and external – understand their role, expectations are clear, and equipment is provisioned in an orderly and effective manner.
  • Coordinate meeting room repairs and upgrades ensuring the work results in minimal disruption for the business, is performed in line with standards and key stakeholders are kept abreast of progress.
  • Understand the inherent limitations of a zero trust Windows PC environment that limits access to meeting room technology to authorised devices and software layers
  • Build strong relationships with executive level stakeholders in the business by being their single touch point for escalations.
  • Control the hardware life cycle of all meeting rooms ensuring equipment continually functions as designed.
  • Monitor traffic patterns associated with meeting & training room utilisation (especially the 6th and 7th floor rooms of the Johannesburg office) to identify changing behaviours that may require adjustments to reservation processes.
  • Serve as the key interface between the AV support team, Facilities and OSTS to ensure meeting rooms are available in terms of confirmed reservations and functioning as designed.
  • Communicate and manage relationships with AV solution vendors
  • Anticipate meeting room support issues and act creatively to prioritize tasks, interpret information, and apply technical knowledge to ensure all processes around meeting rooms function efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop action plans and strategies; oversee team members to ensure that appropriate tools, techniques, and standards are being utilised.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of meeting room technology to identify how best to address customer technology needs and incidents.
  • This role is required to physically work in an EY office.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Advanced analytical skills are required to address major end-user incidents
  • Work independentlywith limited oversight from a manager. A sense of ownership of the meeting room AV technology environment.
  • Decision making responsibilities include prioritization of work for the AV team and determining approaches to effectively address service delivery concerns of the business
  • Technical ability to resolve customer issues
  • Co-ordinate the daily activities of the AV team in Johannesburg (excluding wavespace).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of team management including hiring, development and counselling.
