Your key responsibilities
- Lead the support team in Johannesburg, South Africa that provides in-office support on Audio Visual equipment in meeting rooms.
- Strategic planning and support must be provided to OSTS for other (non-Joburg) offices in South Africa to ensure meeting room technology is at the same standard as it applies in Johannesburg
- Develop and maintain a support system that serves as the key interface for end-users to log requests for support
- Maintain an efficient process to receive room reservations for planned and ad hoc meetings.
- Coordinate the daily preparation of meeting room inspections and preparations
- Coordinate live web cast events ensuring that all stakeholders – internal and external – understand their role, expectations are clear, and equipment is provisioned in an orderly and effective manner.
- Coordinate meeting room repairs and upgrades ensuring the work results in minimal disruption for the business, is performed in line with standards and key stakeholders are kept abreast of progress.
- Understand the inherent limitations of a zero trust Windows PC environment that limits access to meeting room technology to authorised devices and software layers
- Build strong relationships with executive level stakeholders in the business by being their single touch point for escalations.
- Control the hardware life cycle of all meeting rooms ensuring equipment continually functions as designed.
- Monitor traffic patterns associated with meeting & training room utilisation (especially the 6th and 7th floor rooms of the Johannesburg office) to identify changing behaviours that may require adjustments to reservation processes.
- Serve as the key interface between the AV support team, Facilities and OSTS to ensure meeting rooms are available in terms of confirmed reservations and functioning as designed.
- Communicate and manage relationships with AV solution vendors
- Anticipate meeting room support issues and act creatively to prioritize tasks, interpret information, and apply technical knowledge to ensure all processes around meeting rooms function efficiently and effectively.
- Develop action plans and strategies; oversee team members to ensure that appropriate tools, techniques, and standards are being utilised.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of meeting room technology to identify how best to address customer technology needs and incidents.
- This role is required to physically work in an EY office.

- Advanced analytical skills are required to address major end-user incidents
- Work independentlywith limited oversight from a manager. A sense of ownership of the meeting room AV technology environment.
- Decision making responsibilities include prioritization of work for the AV team and determining approaches to effectively address service delivery concerns of the business
- Technical ability to resolve customer issues
- Co-ordinate the daily activities of the AV team in Johannesburg (excluding wavespace).
- Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of team management including hiring, development and counselling.
- Calm and methodical demeanour that can stay focussed and in control in highly stressful situations
- Relationship management at an executive level
- An eye for detail that can anticipate problems before the become large and complex
