Operational Reporting and Analysis

Role Description: The Data & AI Governance Stewardship Specialist supports the implementation of processes for Data & AI Governance principles such as data stewardship, ownership and literacy, in order to meet evolving business objectives and technology landscapes. This role blends data and change management principles to ensure successful roll out and adoption of Data and AI Governance across the business. The jobholder will work with business and technology team members to manage and support transformation and implementation of the Data & AI Governance strategy for meeting specific business objectives. As a core member of the Data and AI Governance team, you will support solution development in order to ensure data requirements of business objectives are met with compliance, high quality, extensibility, and commercial success. You will need to partner with product, program, and engineering teams to manage and sustain transformation. This role has autonomy over the delivery of their work, including running change impact assessments, designing and executing change plans and coaching and managing stakeholders.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of change management strategies to support the rollout of data and AI practices that can be operationalised within the company’s workflows and infrastructure to ensure that data solutions meet business requirements.

  • Develop and deliver creative, engaging, effective and impactful communication plans on Data & AI Governance topics for large, complex transformation programmes utilising a breadth of channels, which are appropriate to engage and communicate with the audience, in a timely, consistent and relevant way.

  • Ensure the Data Ownership and Stewardship communities are engaged and evolving governance needs are managed through education, communication and relevant trainings and playbooks.

  • Support the implementation of efficient Data & AI Governance solutions, working with the team to ensure the stewardship user experience is smooth, efficient and impactful to enable real-time actions and rapid business decisions.

  • Consider and select appropriate channels for high levels of engagement for different audience groups, recommend revisions, new innovative tools or additions as required while reporting on the Data & AI Governance Program Portfolio items.

  • Works to create the overall change narrative working closely with the Data & AI Governance Specialists. Linking the different change portfolios and ensuring joined-up messaging and timing, whilst linking to the strategy and culture of Booking.com to support effective ownership and stewardship of Data & AI Governance solutions end-to-end including regulatory compliance support.

  • Champion effective, conscious change communication and drive best practice standards across all communication activities related to Data & AI Governance.

  • Deliver a unified Booking.com voice and ensure maximum impact of communication efforts and to adopt the highest standards of communication, through tone of voice and language while socialising the relevant documentation overarching Data & AI Policy standards, Data & AI Governance meta and master data management, Data & AI Delivery Governance, Data & AI Quality including both technical and business quality measures

  • Constantly measure and re-calibrate communication activities for impact and engagement to enable the maturity of Data and AI capabilities across Booking.com, unlocking innovation and business value through leveraging data and AI.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Familiarity with the Data, AI and Machine Learning fields

  • Basic knowledge and experience working with Data Governance aspects (data cataloging, data classification, data profiling, etc.)

  • Solid familiarity with Change Management approaches, tools and change journey during phases of the project lifecycle.

  • Strong understanding of Data Ownership and Data Stewardship including the operationalisation of these communities across large complex organisations.
