Our Application Engineers work directly with customers to understand their requirements and needs and then successfully convert these into the product design. Then manage the entire project, working with global and regional cross-functional teams, transferring knowledge to engineers to ensure we deliver the required product in time. The person on this position will mostly handle projects in the product segments of Washer Pumps, Steering Column Adjuster and Seat Applications in Europe.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage engineering projects and successfully drive the product development process while liaising with customers’ engineering teams to obtain application requirements

  • Work closely with internal engineering teams to turn product development plans and customer needs into final technical proposal and design

  • Lead and coordinate all engineering related activities and milestones throughout the process (customer meetings, engineering samples, laboratory and vehicle tests etc.)

  • Track progress, review test results and communicate next steps to the customers and the management

  • Maintain close collaboration with corporate and regional R&D teams on technology development related aspects

  • Provide support in case of quality issues, identification of root cause and development of solutions

  • Assess environmental impact of new products and their manufacturing processes and how they would be safely disposed

Our requirements:

  • University degree in Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering or related

  • Ideally more than 5 years professional experience in a product development related position in the automotive industry

  • Excellent working knowledge of 3D engineering tools (Catia, Pro-E, Solidworks) and CAE software

  • Knowledge of application reliability, NVH tests and relevant engineering standards

  • Knowledge of APQP / TS16949 system and procedures: DFMEA, PFMEA, DVPR, PCP, MSA and PPAP

  • Fluent English language skills, German is plus

  • The ability to work independently and systematically

  • A reliable and conscientious personality who can successfully co-ordinate the work of globally situated teams
