In this role, you will help identify, analyze, and prioritize security risk identified through a variety of sources across Amazon. You will be part of a team of solving complex security challenges that have direct and measurable impact on our customers. Through this work, you will help drive leadership prioritization and reduce security and compliance risk.Key job responsibilities
- Validate technical approach to security checks to ensure alignment with compliance program.
- Work with security teams across SDO to understand system architecture, technical needs, and compliance requirements and make recommendations on control design.
- Lead the identification and assessment of risk areas for commonality, themes, etc.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on security requirements to development and operations teams, serving as a subject matter expert for security requirements.
- Create and manage remediation campaigns for identified compliance gaps, developing systematic solutions to address security issues.
- Design automation requirements for continuous compliance monitoring, developing scripts and tools to streamline compliance-related security check.A day in the life
You will help align security and compliance across Amazon to ensure our technical approach to compliance is as efficient as possible, while increasing the security bar. You will identify risk areas through a variety of security assessments, evaluations, etc and ensure these risks are mitigated.About the team

- 5+ years of experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans
- 4+ years of experience in network, system, or software architecture; design, implementation, support, and evaluation of security-focused tools and services
- 2+ years of scripting or programming experience in Ruby, Python, Shell/BASH scripting, Java, C/C++, C*, Perl, or other languages
- 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: cryptography, web and network protocols, data structures and algorithms, software development, threat modeling, pen tests, or vulnerability assessments

- Understanding of cloud computing services/deployment architecture
- Experience in innovative security approaches in non-traditional IT environments
- Experience generating automated metrics to measure service and program effectiveness and consistency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
- Experience in the development of security products
