You will be responsible for assessing and recommending changes to overall data strategies, policies and controls. The associate will take part in driving better data, stronger controls on data quality and processes, and higher level of transparency for the Home Lending Risk group and regularly interact with leaders and teammates in Risk Management, Finance, Lending and Marketing to add business value.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with data developers to help them understand data requirements and the desired end state of data tables.
- Write test cases for newly developed data then execute those tests and communicate findings.
- Perform impact analysis to assess impact of data source changes.
- Excellent data analytic skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to problem solve by analyzing, using experience and/or intuition to create pragmatic solutions
- Investigate, troubleshoot and help provide data issue resolutions.
- Translates stakeholder requirements into database design
- Addressing user questions about databases. - Assisting in publication and availability
- Analyze database in response to new functionality by summarize findings and implement recommendations
- Promotes a constructive, positive team environment and maintains a spirit of openness, information sharing inquisitiveness, problem-solving and support for common goals
- Ability to allocate time efficiently; handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
- Strong time management skills, fast learner, self‐ motivated, and comfortable taking initiative and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Required, qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance/Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/Operations Research) is required; advanced degree is preferred
- 2+ years of Credit Risk Management and/or Marketing Analytics in financial industry, preferably home lending.
- Extensive hands-on knowledge in SQL, PLSQL, and procedures/functions in working with the following database types: Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake and MS-SQL Server.
- Strong analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop common sense solutions to complex business challenges
- Strong P&L knowledge and understanding of drivers of profitability
- Proven ability to influence and drive results thorough effective thought leadership and teamwork
- Ability to coach and develop peers to deliver results
- Strong knowledge of SAS and MS Office required
- General knowledge of Mortgage Banking, mortgage products, servicing, default processes, reporting, and governance controls
