Communications – Senior Associate

Working closely with the communications lead, you will play an integral role in protecting and enhancing the reputation of the business, partnering with leaders from across the business and the broader firm.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and execute external communications strategies that drive business outcomes
  • Help promote our business to the rest of the firm in coordination with corporate communications and regional communicators
  • Manage communications/PR agency on campaign execution, and measurement
  • Protect and enhance the reputation of the firm – both externally and among employees
  • Handle media queries as part of a small but busy communications team
  • Develop and execute opportunities to tell our story in creative, inspiring ways that resonate with journalists

Key qualifications

  • 5+ years’ professional communications / PR experience – previous retail investment experience preferred
  • BA/BS degree in Communications, Marketing or Journalism preferred
  • Strategic thinking, attention to detail and tactical execution skills
  • Strong writing ability; strong editing skills; web knowledge/digital savvy
  • Ability to effectively partner with direct management, team members and other stakeholders
  • Be used to working in an agile and digital-focused environment
  • Be an excellent multi-tasker with exceptional organisational abilities
  • Close attention to detail on events, written work and strategic advice
  • Commitment to maintaining the firm’s high standards related to risk, compliance and the Code of Conduct
  • Strong project manager and multi-tasker, comfortable in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
  • High level of independence, energy and integrity, demonstrates respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and accepts accountability and responsibility
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours depending on business needs
  • Must provide writing samples when applying to the position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of the financial services industry
  • Experience working in the retail investment sector
  • Strong interest in external comms strategies, implementation, and execution
