What You'll Do

You’ll be responsible for the integrated communications programme for France, for both media and employees. Reporting to the EMEA Communications Director, you will lead all communications (internal and external) in France, in close cooperation with the France employee and executive communications manager, who will report to you. Your responsibilities will include strategic planning and execution as well as content and story development, in a fast-paced and highly competitive environment. You will work with key influencers including print, online, broadcast and social media; subject matter experts, and others. You will be accountable for measurable results.

You will work in partnership with all communications functions, business leaders and marketing including the France leadership team and the France General Manager.

The success of this role requires the ability to balance several priorities. It requires you to prioritise and focus on the areas where communications can have the biggest impact and demonstrate tangible results around influencing audience’s perceptions, attitudes, and behaviours.

Some of your responsibilities:
  • Translate business goals into communications objectives, understand and influence audience perceptions.
  • Design and drive communications programmes that help position the company’s relevance and advance its thought leadership and innovation profile.
  • You will build executive speaker messaging and platforms that position the company and the speaker as true thought leaders within a competitive market.
  • You will be responsible for scaling, amplifying and building stories in line with Cisco’s key business and technology narratives, and with local relevance.
  • You will drive regular planning and reporting meetings. You will track and report success metrics and use the data to continually improve communications programmes. You will socialise communications plans and results with key business stakeholders.
  • You will need to have a deep understanding of the French media and social media landscape, excellent contacts with technology, national and business publications as well as key social/online influencers; with the ability to provide counsel to the wider communications organisation, marketing, and business colleagues.
  • You will manage the PR agency against results, and ensure the agency becomes a trusted extended part of the team.
  • You will build and maintain strong working relationships across the EMEA and Global Comms Organisation.
  • You will balance the requirements of being an active member of the EMEA communications team and helping to drive the team’s joint success whilst driving the success of the France communications programmes.
  • You will be an active member of the EMEA Communications leadership team and help drive the team’s joint success whilst driving the success of communications locally.
Who you are
  • You are a seasoned communications leader with 8-10 years of direct PR and communications experience.
  • You have experience as a people leader.
  • You have experience with executive and employee communications.
  • You have experience of working in an international/multinational company.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, intuitive ability to read people, influence where appropriate and execute when necessary.
  • You bring solid project management skills with the ability to meet milestones, tight deadlines, and balance concurrent projects
  • You are a flexible and resilient problem solver with the ability to gain consensus among others and manage sensitive situations.
  • You can navigate a complex and international environment.
  • Track record of having worked in an IT company is helpful, not a requirement.
