Looking for a new role that will be both challenging and rewarding, then continue reading to see if this position grabs your interests. The Staff Software Engineer role will be helping reshape the fulfillment flows through architecture, design, and the coding of new features/spikes.

Job Description Summary:

· Lead the discovery phase of projects to come up with the high-level design.

· Design and Architect the component for implementing pixel perfect designs that balance challenging customer needs with application performance.

· Working across other teams to collect requirements and articulate into the design.

· Develop innovative strategies, processes, and best practices while leading internal technical teams

· Lead the discovery phase of projects to come up with the high-level design by partnering with the product management, project management, and business and user experience teams.

· Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.

· Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.

· Utilizes industry research to improve Wal-Mart's technology environment by analyzing industry best practices; bench marking industry against internal processes and solutions; researching or influencing future industry solutions for fit with internal needs; and defining software development guidelines, standards, and processes.

Skills required:

  • 8+ years of professional experience as hands-on Engineer and a proven track record of building high quality scalable mobile applications
  • Must have experience with: Implementing REST API web services using JAVA JAX-RS libraries and Spring; Creating Hibernate configuration for Database tables; Using spring data JPA to connect and retrieve data from database; Creating DML and DDL queries for RDBMS; Microservices Docker containers; Cloud computing (AWS); Creating design for the technical features; Creating CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins; Mentoring junior engineers; Version control systems - GIT, SVN, ClearCase; Agile methods: Scrum standup, Sprint Grooming and Retrospective; Written bash scripts and Junit test case. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Minimum education and experience required : Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, MS in computer science or related field plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
