What you'll do...
Responsibilities:
- Be the tech lead for a team of 5-8 AI engineers and work closely with data-scientists, ML engineers to build a suite of AI enabled applications in our central merchandising platform.
- Own the entire engineering lifecycle – from architecture, evaluation, deployment, and refinement -- of solutions to open-ended business problems in the merchandising domain
- Collaborate with business and product counterparts to influence priorities for the problems we solve using Gen AI.
- Stay abreast of proven and cutting-edge research and techniques in the working with LLMs and data-science.
What you’ll bring:
- 8+ years of experience with software development and architecture
- Proficiency programming in and maintaining production Python and Java applications and experience working with data-science/ML frameworks and tools such as NumPy, Pandas, and PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Proven expertise modeling and working with large, data-intensive applications.
- Proven expertise in working with LLMs and building compound AI systems (building multi-step RAG, Text-to-SQL, or “agentic” workflows) or natural language processing or similar research experience with deep-learning/AI.
- Experience building and rigorously evaluating Gen AI solutions and building solutions to gather insights on or answer questions about complex tabular data.
- A ruthless work ethic and a willingness to solve open-ended problems that require systematic experimentation and evaluation.
