PURPOSE
- Assist in the materials development process by supporting key functions related to material sourcing, selection, and quality assessment.
- Gain hands-on experience in a dynamic global sourcing environment while contributing to the creation of innovative materials that align with marketing and design strategies.
- Support the continuous improvement of internal processes and sustainability initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative and operational support for the materials development team.
- Assist in gathering, organizing, and maintaining material data within internal databases and reporting tools.
- Support material research, including trends, sustainability initiatives, and innovation strategies.
- Help in coordinating communication between internal teams such as Design, Product Development, and Sourcing.
- Work with Tier 2 suppliers under supervision to assist in material sampling and testing coordination.
- Support documentation and tracking of materials testing results in compliance with adidas quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to materials selection, trends, and sustainability.
- Participate in team meetings and learning opportunities to understand the end-to-end material development process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong interest in materials science, sustainability, or product development.
- Basic understanding of material types and production processes is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Textile Technology, or a related field.
- Previous internship or academic project experience in materials, sustainability, or product development is a plus.
