Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate and/or lead the design of linear and rotary ultra-precision motion stages.
- Integrate and improve control hardware and algorithms to achieve performance requirements.
- Analyze and improve response of dynamic systems.
- Design and carryout experiments to support product development and model validation.
- Design, build, and deliver complex mechatronic systems including motion stages, test benches, and other hardware.
- Use model-based design techniques to create predictive performance models.
- Document product designs and operations.
- Specify, document, and procure mechatronics hardware components.
- Participate and lead design reviews.
- Help with concept generation, solving problems, and customer concerns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and fundamentals.
- Understanding of dynamic system modeling and feedback control systems.
- Good understanding of engineering tolerances and error budgeting.
- Ability to prioritize projects and tasks concurrently and with minimal guidance.
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or python to create custom analysis and visualization apps.
- Experience with CAD.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Will require domestic and international travel dependent on business needs (less than 20%).
Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
