Required Qualification(s):
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical experience in network design, development, and automation
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience in fiber optic network design, installation, and maintenance
- Proficiency with relevant design software and testing equipment
- Ability to interpret fiber plant documentation and schematics
- Familiarity with fusion splicing techniques to accomplish spicing of fiber optic cables
- Implementation of network protection techniques
- Familiarity with OTDR, light source and power meter testing to verify cable integrity and performance
- Experience with design and capacity planning
- Professional certification in fiber optics (e.g., CFOT, FOA, BICSI)
Additional Qualifications:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualification(s):
- BICSI RCDD certification preferred but not required
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices
- Experience with building automation and tools to drive efficiency in systems operations and processes
