Working in Application Support means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Job responsibilities

  • Basic knowledge of application development
  • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed
  • Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Ability to contribute to large and collaborative teams by presenting information in a logical and timely manner with compelling language and limited supervision
  • Ability to proactively recognize road blocks and demonstrates interest in learning technology that facilitates innovation
  • Ability to identify new technologies and relevant solutions to ensure design constraints are met by the software team
  • Experience with Incident/Change/Problem management
  • Ability to initiate and implement ideas to solve business problems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification onApplications Supportconcepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Strong experience working as application support ; strong troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, and .Net
  • Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a given technical discipline (e.g., Cloud, artificial intelligence, Android, etc.)
  • Experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and others
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform
  • Familiarity with container and container orchestration such as ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
  • Strong scripting skills (preferably PowerShell); experience with automation; IaC tools
  • Experience (or good understanding) with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools like AppDynamics/Dynatrace/Datadog
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and good understanding of SDLC process
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Preferably a strong administration experience on Windows based Infrastructure (Active Directory services, DNS/DHCP)
  • Good understanding of SLA/SLO/SLI; working experience with Splunk/Grafana/Kibana or equivalent
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies
