The top candidate will serve as a primary point of contact for search and evaluation of external in-licensing opportunities emanating from academia, VC, biotech and peer-pharma including early research projects, new modality platforms, clinical stage candidates and Life Cycle Management (LCM) opportunities for our pipeline assets and franchises that can improve the scientific credibility of Teva’s R&D portfolio.
The top candidate will establish and lead Due Diligence teams and processes (for preclinical and early and late clinical assets) to drive detailed scientific evaluation of assets and deliver recommendations to governance bodies including the senior executive management. Will serve as a point of contact with the external partner throughout the deal process and work collaboratively with the transactional lead within the BD team.

Your experience and qualifications
PhD, M.D., or M.D./PhD in neuroscience or a related scientific field (e.g. biology, chemistry, pharmacology).
Minimum 10 years experience cumulative related to BD, R&D in biopharma and a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
Deal experience and solid foundation of generally accepted BD practices.
Strong scientific reputation in drug discovery and development.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior executive teams.
History of building internal/external relationships, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and awareness
Extensive experience in pharmaceutical R&D, demonstrating international experience in multiple cultures and drug discovery / clinical environments.
Ability to think critically, creatively and to anticipate and solve problems.
Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed work environment.
Strong relationship-building skills, able to influence internal and external stakeholders. This individual will be highly visible at all levels of the organization and must be able to build trust and credibility.
Advanced principles and practices of project management and ability to support department goals, track, and report execution progress.
Techniques to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.
Strong written and communication skills, including presentation skills.
Substantive experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
