As a Microsoft
Strategic Contracts Manager,you will oversee the contract management process for our Architectural Engineering team in support of our datacenter construction projects. You will be responsible for the Request For Quotation (RFQ) process, in addition to preparing, reviewing, negotiating and executing contracts with various parties, such as, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants. You will also ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and industry standards, and manage any contract-related issues or disputes.

You should have an understanding of commercial language, construction practices, risk management and project management. You will work independently and collaboratively with different stakeholders and departments.

  • This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
  • Relocation support will not be provided. Candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 75%.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, operations-related roles, or engineering
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
    • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field AND 12+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or operations-related roles
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or operations-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with contract management software, such as SAP Ariba.
  • Experience in reviewing commercial language, terms and conditions, construction practices and project management.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different stakeholders and departments.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Create and deliver on contract execution plans, defining control processes and approaches that drive consistent alignment with business requirements and support continuous improvements in the execution of contracts within and across organizations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for identifying and resolving internal and/or external contract delivery, execution risks, and road blocks.
  • Oversee price and procurement requests via workflow process or technology as applicable in support of product and service requirements, ensuring procedural compliance, and managing the resolution of highly complex pricing issues raised by other sourcing personnel.
  • Identify issues related to procurement requests and collaborates with business and engineering partners to proactively drive process and system improvements.
  • Engage the supply base to process price validation and deliver accurate pricing to relevant team(s) for purchase order creation.
  • Create and issue Request For Quotations (RFQ's) for services required for the projects and evaluate and compare the bids received from the suppliers.
  • Draft, review, negotiate and execute contracts with various parties, such as clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and regulators, for architectural engineering services for datacenter construction projects.
  • Manage contract renewals, extensions, amendments and terminations, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all contracts and related documents.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on contract-related matters, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and liabilities associated with contracts, and resolve any contract-related issues or disputes.
