Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and support Sustaining R&D activities on commercial products.
  • Lead technical projects.
  • Provide guidance and approvals regarding technical strategies and approaches.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff, assists team in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high-quality staff.
  • Assists in and/or manages functional deliverables and ensures technical and quality excellence for our products.
  • Assists in and/or completes the development and monitoring of budgets.
  • Assists in identifying and developing department tools.
  • Assists in and/or determines appropriate staff levels, schedules, and resources.
  • Works with project managers to understand priorities and plans resource and time allocation accordingly.
  • Collaboratively determines project staff assignments and schedules to meet completion dates and R&D deliverables.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Monitors and evaluates project and department progress and results.
  • May provide point of contact and divisional oversight with Manufacturing Site ME and QE management representatives.
  • Collaborates and works closely with Sustaining R&D Management to continually improve Sustaining, Neuromodulation and BSC.
  • Understands overall Neuromodulation business and can analyze the impact of each project in prioritizing and escalating issues.
  • Participates in Sustaining Engineering strategy and portfolio planning.

Required qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering or technical field.
  • Required minimum work experience 5+ years.
  • 2-4 years experience in medical device industry.
  • 3-5 years direct management experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to drive to root cause of complex engineering and business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to act proactively.
  • Strong electro-mechanical engineering, materials knowledge, and component design skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse workloads.
  • Demonstrated test method development and validation experience.
  • Experience with statistical analysis (Minitab experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to shifting work and staff priorities.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership as it relates to product, design, and process.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10 - 15%.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated annualized base pay range this full-time position working at this location will be from [$124,100 - $235,800], plus variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements) and the value of core and optional employee benefits being offered at Boston Scientific (BSC), which can be reviewed at . At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. BSC considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may be otherwise adjusted if the position is filled outside of the intended geographic location.
