What You’ll Do
  • Review part and assembly data using data collection software (CM4D, Polyworks, Dataloop) by reviewing design Requirements and Support with Tolerance Reviews and create Dimensional Reports for Fremont Factory
  • Prepare presentations summarizing results, findings, and next steps
  • Communicate between cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements to completion by investigating root causes and provide corrective and preventative actions
  • Support with new product launches, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting related to dimensional quality engineering responsibilities
  • Support in risk assessment & mitigation activities by anticipating in potential problems and take preventative action
  • Contribute to 8D/Root Cause Analysis process by reviewing/auditing and collecting information on manufacturing processes, design, specifications, quality system, and detection methods
  • Create and Train on New Documents, Dimensional Quality Processes, and Detection Methods (Gauging, equipment, methods, etc.)
  • Support Manufacturing Control Plan/PFMEA Creation and Improvements developing Dimensional Control Plan Definition, Execution, and Implementation
  • Conduct and Analyze Gauge R&R tests on various measuring equipment
  • Oversee New Measurement Equipment Validations and Drive new measurement equipment to meet Tesla Dimensional Standards
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certification or proven equivalent experience
  • Experience developing process / quality plans and audit procedures and driving failure analysis efforts and corrective actions
  • Specific training and demonstrated success in applying GD&T development, measurement equipment and expertise, DVA developing and understanding, fixture manufacturing and improvement
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solver with a strong quality and customer-focused mindset
  • Must possess a bias for action, with the ability to remain engaged, proactive, and positive in challenging circumstances, owning assignments, and taking full accountability for overall success
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to Tesla’s sites as needed or suppliers, especially in support of new product and line launches
