Your impact

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with experience in Traffic Engineering to help deliver Active Travel design projects for one of our key clients, Dublin City Council.  You will operate on a Hybrid basis from our client’s office and will work on local projects, whilst also interacting with Jacobs colleagues across Ireland, the UK, Europe and Globally.

Our teams deliver a range of exciting and innovative projects covering active travel, streets design, traffic engineering and local junction design / modelling. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience of the development and progression of active travel and mass transit, transformational placemaking and traffic management solutions. We are currently assisting with the BusConnects program for Ireland’s National Transport Authority and various active travel schemes for Dublin City Council.

  • A full time working week with Jacobs is 40 hours
  • This role enjoys a Hybrid working pattern but does require 3 days per week based on site with our client in Dublin city centre
Here's what you'll need
  • To be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Significant experience in the traffic engineering field with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile projects
  • Have achieved or be working towards Chartered Engineer or other relevant professional qualification e.g. Engineers Ireland, CIHT, TPP, CEng
  • To be a creative, solution-oriented individual, with an understanding of designing inclusive schemes in an urban environment and demonstrable experience
  • A desire to develop your technical skills and the ability work independently undertaking design and ideally local junction modelling
  • To be able to manage tasks using appropriate programme, budget and quality controls
  • Flexibility to manage your workload, assist with new business opportunities and be aware of emerging technologies and the future evolution of the industry
  • Experience of project and client management, covering programme, resources, finance and quality control
