The Automotive industry is living a revolution. Electrification, autonomous driving, diverse mobility, connectivity are trends that are drastically changing the industry’s rules. Among all decisive topics revolutionizing cars in the next future, Silicon Mobility is committed to support the rapid advent of electric and hybrid cars.
As a system test engineer within the System and Software Engineering team, you will be responsible for the verification and validation of high-performance control algorithms such as On-Board Chargers, DC-DC Converters, e-Motors (PMSM, WRSM, ASM) and traction Inverters for hybrid and electric vehicles (HEV/EV). You will be in charge of specification, development, automatization and execution of unitary, integration, functional and qualification tests of these powertrain control algorithms.
An understanding of powertrain system control theory is essential to carry out daily activities as well as knowledge and experience modeling test environments (Such as: Power plant, tests scenarios, …) in Matlab/Simulink in both continuous and discrete time domains.
Main responsibilities of the position of System Test Engineer include to:
- Specify Unitary, Integration, Functional and Qualification tests following the defined requirements, architecture, and design elements.
- Verify and validate powertrain control algorithms in Model in the Loop (MiL), Software in the Loop (SiL) and Hardware in the Loop (HiL) environments.
- Maintain and adapt existing tests (Non-Regression Tests).
- Develop, Automate, and debug new tests (unitary, integration, functional and qualification tests).
- Ensure tests coverage metrics (Static and dynamic analysis: Dead Code, MCDC, Condition, Decision, MISRA Rules, Overflow, Cyclomatic complexity, …).
- Define test plan, test group, test cycle and test reports.
- Work closely and collaborate with system and software engineers to test requirements, architecture, and design elements.
- Apply AGILE and A-SPICE development flow.
- Ensure the quality management by understanding ISO26262 guidelines, ISO 9001 standard and following the System and Software Engineering process.
- Remotely support engineers on test benches for powertrain system validation.
The position requires pro-active involvement with all departments of the Company.
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering and/or Power electronics control
TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a system test engineer in:
o Tests specification
o Model In the Loop (MIL) Testing using Matlab/Simulink Test Tools (Test Manager, Simulink Coverage, Simulink Check, Design Verifier, ..).
o Hardware In the Loop (HIL) Testing under D-SPACE.
o Test automation (Python and Matlab scripting).
- Strong knowledge on powertrain control algorithms (OBC, DC/DC, e-Motors, and traction inverter)
- Knowledge of AGILE and A-SPICE development flows and quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 26262).
- General knowledge of microcontroller development.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Fluent in English
- French speaking is a plus.
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
- Be self-motivated, pro-active, flexible and able to accept new challenges.
- Effective communication skills to work efficiently in a multi-site environment.
