Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the on-site implementation of structural designs, ensuring all work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections to monitor construction quality, workmanship, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements to ensure consistency with design intent.
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve site-related issues to ensure smooth progress of structural works.
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to address construction challenges and ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, engineering standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Review and verify progress reports, schedules, and invoices related to structural works.
  • Identify potential risks, delays, or conflicts on-site and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Attend site meetings, provide status updates, and communicate key project milestones to clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed reports on structural works, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and recommendations for corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional accreditation or license (e.g., Professional Engineer [PE], Chartered Engineer [CEng], or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering with a consultancy background, including site supervision experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of structural design principles, construction methods, and materials.
  • Proficiency in reviewing structural design software outputs such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with construction and safety codes, including [local and international standards like ACI, BS, Eurocodes, etc.].
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on large-scale [e.g., residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure] projects.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design and construction practices.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or construction safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH).
