What the Candidate Will Do
- Build a vision: define a product vision for the team and identify near and long-term initiatives to build your product roadmap.
- Align teams: work closely with cross-functional teams such as Matching, Eng, Data Science, and Operations to align business and product strategy.
- Execute: translate user needs and insights into product requirements by distilling user problems, writing hypotheses, and describing desired outcomes.
- Iterate: distill insights from various data sources such as performance dashboards and experimentation results. Then apply the findings back into the product development process.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of direct working experience as a Product Manager, ideally at a tech forward company builing consumer facing products. This is a user-focused role, so experience delivering highly successful and creative mobile user-facing products is a must.
- Experience using data to drive strategic decisions and excelent stakeholder management skills. This is a complex problem space, requiring experience with experimentation and data-driven decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of marketplace products and an ability to use data, distill it into insightful stories, align teams, and drive strategic decisions.
- A genuine passion for Uber's mission, our products, and the company's hybrid technology/operations nature.
- Customer Empathy - Think about the "why" before the "what"
- A love for formulating product visions from user research, gaining buy-in from critical team members, and creating tangible roadmaps.
- A bias towards action, never hesitating to jump in and tackle challenges hands-on.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$190,000 per year - USD$211,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$190,000 per year - USD$211,000 per year.
