The JP Morgan Fund Accounting Team manages the production and review of the NAV and other activities that leads to the correct valuation of the mutual fund clients. This Fund Accounting Team take direct responsibility for the production, review and delivery of the activities related to Regulatory requirements and client reporting along with other activities. This role involves participation in the production and review from a detailed and quality perspective of both NAV impacting activities and regulatory reports.
The candidate should have 7-8 years or more experience in a fund accounting and/or a good understanding of financial products and should have worked extensively in such areas with also experience in managing a team of more than 7 people and should be a CA/MBA (Finance).
Main Duties and Responsibilities:- Review of day to day activities in accordance of SOPs and within agreed client deadlines & SLA’s
- Audit and resource planning with internal parties and for peak cycles
- Consistency review and management across large clients throughout the year
- Ongoing analysis of client accounting records and escalation, where appropriate, of any potential issues identified
- Identify and correct misstatements within the accounting, ability to identify and escalate potential audit findings
- Able to resolve the team queries & act as a reference point for junior team members on technical, accounting and audit related matters
- Liaise with partner sites for external deliveries and communicate status effectively and in a timely manner
- Interaction with stakeholders to respond to any accounting or financial reporting-related queries that may arise.
- Recognise and act on opportunities to improve processes including developing and making recommendations for change and encourage the team to come with ideas for efficiency
- To ensure all the risk and control checks are in place and team adhere and follow all required checklists and SOPS
- Liaise with OCM (internal control) team on any issues that arise that need to be reviewed
- To manage team‘s Objective setting, Performance review and providing ongoing feedback for direct reports and wider teams
- To work with local and global management team as and when required, providing timely updates and MIS
Key Skills and Knowledge- You will have 8+ years’ experience in a Fund Accounting and/or Financial markets.
- Post graduate/CA with major in Finance/Accounting will be added value.
- You will have experience in managing people, completion of performance reviews and setting objectives
- You will be able to demonstrate strong management skills and ability to build key internal relationships across locations
- You will have very strong attention to detail in review of documents and analytical review capabilities in relation to Fund Accounting numbers & reporting
- You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of all primary US Regulations, Mutual Funds and NAV
- You will possess the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and juggle multiple client and audit deliverables at peak delivery times
