PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The Senior Tax Specialist will be responsible for managing/supporting any tax topics in the Middle East and North Africa, especially with focus on the following tasks:

• Ensure that the legal entities meet internal and external compliance requirements (Corporate Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Tax Accounting, Withholding Tax, Transfer Pricing)
• Actively manage and provide support in tax audits and litigations
• Manage communication/negotiations with tax authorities, auditors and external tax advisors ensuring effective communication and collaboration, incl. managing of external budgets
• Collaborate with Global Tax Team members to identify, plan, and execute opportunities for tax planning and tax optimization
• Manage and ensure proper implementation of tax law changes, incl. the coordination with IT and key business stakeholders
• Oversee transfer pricing policies and ensure compliance with intercompany transactions

• Transformation of manual compliance in automated processes and identify process improvements on local and regional level (both for direct taxes and indirect taxes)
• Provide guidance and support to other departments on tax-related matters, including tax implications of business decisions and transactions ensuring a high level of “customer” satisfaction and building good business relations with key stakeholder

Required skills

• University degree (or equivalent) in tax, business studies, economics, finance, or a related field
• Strong communication skills and a positive team player with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively across countries and departments
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations in the region, ideally with focus on at least one of the following countries: Saudi-Arabia, United Arab Emirates and/or Egypt
• Strong preference to work in technical/software-driven processes (SAP ERP)
• Ability to manage tasks effectively, prioritize deadlines, and communicate progress across teams
• Proficient in English and Arabic (both written and spoken)
