Lead and grow the group of 4+ factory-based design engineers focused on launch, ramp, and optimization of Tesla’s production 4680s
Foster respect & seamless collaboration with partner teams (Manufacturing, Process, Quality, NPI, Qualification, Supply Chain, Battery Pack) to tackle rate, yield, scrap & reliability issues
Master-level expertise in our cell design and the factories that build it
Routinely connect with Bay Area counterpart managers to elevate org practice and transition projects from development / pilot maturity to mass-production scale
Leverage troves of factory data to steer immediate design, process and quality improvement efforts, plus longer-term product / equipment roadmap decisions
Drive creation of new tools, protocols, workflows, and documentation to increase mass-production sustaining rigor
Oversee refinement of product specs, DFMEA, and change management systems
Lead cross-functional response to emergent issues (yield excursions, failures, etc.)
Support factory intelligence development initiatives; hold constant vigilance for integrating modern AI tools to unlock new efficiency or capability paradigms
