What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
- Operate battery test equipment to perform routine laboratory cell level testing, including electrical characterization (cycle life, calendar life and performance characterization), dimensional inspections and mechanical tests
- Manage and organize battery cell test samples through their entire life cycle. This includes: incoming quality inspection, cell inventory and tracking, test registration, labeling, recording results in a database, verifying data quality, transporting samples, load cells on test equipment, monitor ongoing tests
- Compile, organize, summarize and communicate test data to test engineers
- Communicate issues observed in sample, process, test or documentation to supervisor
- Participate in test fixture design, instrument and assemble cells into test setup
- Manage laboratory equipment, including daily verification, preventive maintenance, yearly calibration
- Identify and troubleshoot test equipment and setup as needed Support laboratory organization and maintain a clean work environment
- Experience working with common cell cycling hardware (Arbin, Maccor, Neware, Bio-logic, PEC, Bitrode, AV, Gamry)
- Knowledge of standard electronics tools including DC meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes.
- Experience in wiring and soldering
- Experience with metrology and data acquisition systems
- Strong interest or passion for lithium-ion battery technology
- Knowledge of safety hazards of working with and electrical and mechanical testing of lithium-ion batteries
