Key job responsibilities
A senior research engineer in AWS Computer Vision research team has the following responsibilities:
- Design and build reference architectures, or train/optimize models that enable science experimentation on complex problems with unknown definition and solution pipelines
- Handle and implement research code for training and evaluation, apply and adapt known science methods

- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in AI/ML fields such as Computer Vision, Generative AI, NLP, or foundational models.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and familiarity with cloud-based computing platforms.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and coding skills (e.g., Python, C++, or Java).

- Experience in developing agents and working with multimodal large language models and foundation models.
- Experience designing and leading complex research projects from ideation to implementation.
- Understanding of model optimization, and algorithm development.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Research publications in peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
