, you will be working within theon theEmerging Tech team.In this role, you will manage multiple teams through other managers. You will play a crucial role in driving the strategic objectives of the function, with a deep understanding of how their sub-function contributes to the broader goals. This role requires a thorough knowledge of the industry, including the products and services offered by competitors, to support the business’s commercial targets. This position demands a strategic vision to align the function’s activities with the overall direction of the business. It also requires strong practical skills in both digital technology and product management, with expertise in relevant subject areas. The role involves leading the execution of functional strategies within the area of responsibility, which encompasses budgeting, planning, policy development, and shaping the future strategic path. As a senior leader, this person is expected to communicate effectively and negotiate at high levels within the organization. External communications may also be required. The role influences the business significantly by managing multiple teams, driving cross-functional initiatives, and integrating various functions across the organization. Responsibilities include full management oversight for multiple teams, covering performance evaluations, hiring, compensation, disciplinary actions, terminations, and budget approvals. The role will directly report to a C16 leader, ensuring that the product management function aligns with the goals of the site or business line.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure team culture consistently demonstrates alignment with leadership principles; visibly ties department decisions to leadership principles

  • Owns long-term strategic view (3-5 years) and complete platform portfolio within his / her category / division

  • Builds strong partnership with the business stakeholders to help drive strategic direction and investment decisions.

  • Owns development and communicates the long-term vision and goals that drive the working backwards strategies for a portfolio of platform products

  • Understands domain and competitive landscape; may lead company-wide decision making for the platform product domain

  • Inspires a culture of “test and learn” experimentation and innovation to solve core business and end customer needs in the platform product domain

  • Leverages customer research, feedback, competitive analysis and industry trends to drive investment choices that will cultivate long-term innovation for the business and customer.

  • Owns “test and learn” roadmap to inform the platform product portfolio

  • Owns the organizational planning and serves as the representative to Executives

  • Compiles content for periodic Exec level communications, reviews and updates

  • Continuously monitors the KPIs of portfolio and reviews regularly with technology peers and business partners

  • Primary interface with the Business and stakeholders

  • Makes trade off decisions for category / division platform product portfolio

  • Owns business and platform requirements for a large enterprise or portfolio of platform products

  • Sets the direction for the platform design for a large enterprise or portfolio of platform products

  • Determines release goals for a large enterprise portfolio of platform products

  • Creates a comprehensive user experience for an entire customer domain using various design thinking techniques

  • Develops method for prioritization and triage of new changes and defects for team to apply, makes key decisions on showstoppers and end product quality

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in a product line management, e-commerce, and/or strategic planning role.

  • Significant experience building complex business and/or transactional models.

  • Has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products / services in a high growth environment where priorities shift rapidly.

  • Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.

  • First-class leadership and influencing skills, including experience managing a Product Management Team

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and talent management skills, including the ability to identify and develop product management talent.

  • Understanding of Agile principles, Scrum, and other iterative development approaches.

  • Technical acumen in cloud services, microservices architecture, and API integrations.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and tools such as SQL , Python, or data visualization software (e.g., Tableau ).

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices to ensure the platform meets security standards.

  • Experience with product management tools such as Jira , Confluence , or Aha ! for product road mapping and backlog management.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Product Management, Mathematics or Science

Master’s degree preferred
