Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as an attorney in business immigration law, including high-volume business immigration practice with technology clients and working on full suite of non-immigrant and immigrant visa processes such as: H-1B, L-1, TN, PERM, and the full suite of EB-1s.
    • OR equivalent practice of law.
  • Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.
  • Juris Doctor or international equivalent degree
    • OR completion of a legal apprenticeship.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Experience with development and implementation of complex immigration programs
  • 3+ years experience advising on large-scale programs for a global company, including balancing and advising on complex legal and business considerations, ensuring timely completion of deliverable deadlines, while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders

Responsibilities
  • Provides strategic legal advice to visa-dependent employees and business groups on case-specific, complex, immigration matters while overseeing the preparation and filing of non-immigrant and immigrant petitions and applications
  • Provides continuous feedback and contributes to the improvement of project operational efficiencies; provides recommendations to improve efficiencies within work group and for the delivery of legal services to clients.
  • Project development and implementation while collaborating and partnering effectively across diverse teams in a high volume and fast-paced environment
  • Works effectively with colleagues and outside counsel to manage project work and simplify complex legal issues into clear written and verbal communication
  • Identifies and anticipates legal risks in the client's business, technology, and/or public policy, and develops solutions to mitigate future risk while remaining compliant with immigration regulations.
  • Serve as legal partner to HR and business groups to understand business needs and advise on workforce planning, job changes, and employer obligations.
