About the Role

You will play a key role in driving payroll transformation, ensuring operational excellence, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establishing Payroll Shared Services in India

  • Lead the design, setup, and operationalization of the Payroll Shared Service Center in India.

  • Define the service delivery model, governance structure, and performance standards.

  • Build and mentor a high-performing, customer-centric payroll team capable of supporting multi-country operations.

  • Ensure seamless integration with global payroll systems, policies, and processes.

2. Global Transformation Leadership

  • Drive global payroll transformation programs to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance.

  • Champion automation, digital tools, and process standardization across geographies.

  • Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and IT to align payroll strategy with broader business and technology goals.

  • Lead change management and communication initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and stakeholder alignment.

3. Metrics and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and own key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure service quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

  • Continuously assess operational performance to identify opportunities for process optimization.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by driving innovation and adopting best-in-class practices.

4. Strategic Partnership and Leadership Collaboration

  • Partner with the Head of Global Service Delivery to define the global payroll strategy and transformation roadmap.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, offering insights on payroll compliance, cost efficiency, and workforce analytics.

  • Build strong partnerships across global payroll teams, HR COEs, and Finance to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.

5. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to local, regional, and international payroll compliance standards.

  • Establish strong governance frameworks and internal controls to mitigate risk.

  • Manage payroll audits, regulatory requirements, and data privacy obligations with rigor and precision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in payroll management, including 10+ years leading shared services or global payroll transformation initiatives.

  • Proven success in setting up or scaling shared service centers or global payroll operations.

  • Deep understanding of multi-country payroll systems, processes, and compliance frameworks.

  • Strong track record in people leadership, strategic planning, and transformation delivery.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive influencing skills.

  • Experience with global payroll technologies, automation tools, and analytics platforms preferred.
