As 7T MR scientist, you will work in close collaboration with GE HealthCare and the Inter-University Ultra-High-Field MRI Centre Flanders (IN2U). In this role, you will develop new MR acquisition and reconstruction techniques with a focus on advanced neuroimaging at 7T. In particular, this includes new advanced technologies for advanced ultra-high-field MRI. You will work independently and also within a larger team to innovate and push the technical envelope in all aspects of magnetic resonance imaging. You will have access to state-of-the-art 7.0T MRI scanners and all required computer hardware. In this global role you will work onsite with one of our clinical partners in Belgium.
Essential Responsibilities
- Combine knowledge of MR physics, computer science, AI, mathematics, and clinical needs to design and develop new features for MR data acquisition and reconstruction to be used in high-field MRI.
- Evaluate and extend new concepts.
- Work closely with clinical collaborators at IN2U to evaluate and improve high-field MRI technologies within a clinical research environment.
- Contribute to MR scientific societies through publication and presentation of research output.
Basic Qualifications and Requirements
- PhD in Physics, Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent;
- Experience in the field of MRI, ideally in sequence programming and image reconstruction;
- Proficiency in programming in C, C++, Python and/or MATLAB;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Can-do attitude, open and creative;
- Team-work & commitment;
- Fluency in English.
Additional 'Nice-to-Have' Characteristics:
- Previous GE MRI, EPIC and Orchestra experience;
- Experience in the field of 7T MRI;
- Experience with research collaborations;
- Experience in machine-/deep-learning or other AI technologies.
