In informing strategy proactively, or responding to issues reactively, you will be required to build and maintain engagement with relevant stakeholders across state and federal government. You will manage multiple stakeholders internally and externally, and the focus is to proactively protect and advance the reputation of EY Oceania on key firmwide strategic issues. You will work closely with the Corporate Affairs Manager to shape a clear and compelling integrated approach to Public Affairs during a period of transformational change.
What we’re looking for

- Proven experience in public policy communications roles and stakeholder relations within government, in a corporate or professional services environment. A mix of government and corporate experience is highly desirable.
- Exceptional research skills and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex policy issues to diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of policy advocacy, government affairs, and public policy processes in Australia.Existing knowledge of federal parliamentary processes is required.
- Proven experience in media relations, crisis communication, and issues management within the context of public policy.
- Ability to successfully navigate complex and competing priorities, and cope with ambiguity and change.
- Strong influencing skills; gain support and commitment from others; mobilize people to take action; use creative approaches to motivate others to meet practice strategic goals; engage with leaders effectively to gain sponsorship for activities.
- Ability to build consensus and influence at the most senior levels within an organization.
