Job summary
As an Investment Business Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and representing local PM teams to optimize the performance of this function both strategically and operationally. You will have joint accountability with the business executive that promotes early investment business opportunities and operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate investment and operational risk. You will also engage with colleagues across the firm involving control, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions.
China (AMC) investment teams manage funds and accounts across Fixed Income (FI), Liquidity (GL) and Multi-Assets Solutions (MAS). With increasing local regulations imposed on funds investing locally and overseas, as well as segregate accounts, managed locally, AMC requires strong oversight and management functions of these funds and accounts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with local and regional Investment Management, Trading, Research, Investment Directors & Investment Specialist teams to understand priorities, issues, challenges and requirements and provide business management support as needed;
- Support local investment team in driving product management / new product development/strategy, streamline investment team procedures / systems;
- Represent the China Investment Teams in local and regional communication with the respective key business partners, including, Operations, Product Development, Technology, Internal Audit and Risk Management & Compliance, as well as local and regional governance committees and forums;
- Partner with Control Management to ensure AMC maintain a robust investment risk and control environment;
- Prepare senior management presentations and reports and well present the related investment business, monitoring, escalations and control results;
- Collaborate with AMC Equity and ETF Investment Business Manager and ensure consistent practices and controls; back each other up when required;
- Ad-hoc requests and special projects
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 10 years of relevant experience in Investment Management, Compliance, Risk Management or Project Management preferred.
- Exceptional critical thinking, project management, analytical and communication skills (i.e. communicate effectively at all levels of the organization)
- Ability to directly address conflicts and escalate issues where appropriate.
- An understanding of Asset Management businesses, products and investment management experience is preferable.
- Fluent in both written and verbal English and Chinese required.
