Description
You will work on introducing powerful technology to people around the world to make their life better. The ideal candidate will have had direct experience with the design and application of optical imaging systems and be hardworking and curious about new technologies. Day to day responsibilities may include:- Design and analyze optical instruments intended for the calibration and test of novel products - Develop prototype instruments to demonstrate proposed solutions and conduct detailed analysis to quantitatively and qualitatively assess performance against target spec- Drive technical activities and discussions with external vendors- Provide streamlined and detailed presentations
Minimum Qualifications
  • Evaluate design solutions by performing detailed tolerance analysis
  • Experience in developing bench-top optical systems and in defining methodology to characterize the performance for comparison against the design
  • Programming fundamentals with Python, MATLAB
  • Following experience is a plus : image processing, computer vision fundamentals, color science
  • Self-motivated, independent, and takes initiative
  • Resourceful, prepared to champion work in front of a large group, and enjoys working in multi-functional team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong optical simulation experience with ray tracing tools such as LightTools, Zemax, Code V, etc.
  • Strong understanding of geometrical optics and aberration theory
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,700 and $284,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
