What you'll do

Focus and Overall Goals of the Project:

The project addresses two key questions:

  • How can participatory interventions transform campus mobility?
  • How can digital monitoring evaluate these interventions for evidence-based outcomes?


The project's objectives include:

Developing a comprehensive mobility database and app-based tracking system to set industry standards in capturing and analyzing mobility behaviors and create and test mobility innovations that can be scaled and transferred to other university campuses and mixed commercial settings. In addition, researching and developing strategies and services for active travel, emissions reduction, micro-mobility integration, and user acceptance in global transport systems.


The Role:


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research that provides industry viewpoints to academia, enabling mutual benefits from research insights and creating enhanced learning experiences.
  • Collaborate and work in a multi-stakeholder project with various internal and external partners including industry, academia, and municipal entities.
  • Organize and manage a collaborative environment, ensuring efficient communication and coordinated efforts between all stakeholders.
  • Cultivate relationships between SAP, TUM and Industry partners that drive partnerships in providing industry perspectives to academic research.
  • Foster innovative digital mobility management initiatives, such as introducing a smartphone app to encourage sustainable travel and innovative interventions like an automated shuttle service.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed Mobility Database to store, process, and analyze mobility data collected through GPS-based and AI-supported methods.
  • Lead the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as AI into the project.
  • Plan and implement communication and participation strategies to disseminate project results and engage stakeholders effectively.


What you bring

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology and deep research experience (e.g., due to working on a Masters or PhD thesis)
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python
  • Proven project management skills, with a history of leading and developing successful projects
  • Proficiency in scientific tools, data security, and infrastructure environments, including blockchain and AI technologies
  • Solid experience in data analysis and data management
  • Ability to conceive and implement innovative solutions in the field of sustainable mobility
  • Working experience within university research and industry R&D organizations
  • Proven capability to setup and drive projects across team- and company boundaries
  • Goal- and result-oriented, hands-on, and ready to work in an agile environment and projects with academic partners and internal project stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of SAP, its products and solutions, partners, markets, and competition
  • Strong communication skills in English and German
