As a
Lead the development of new and existing channel partnersfortheIndustrial Adhesives & Tapes portfolio,across all relevant channels such as General Industrial and Building and Construction.
Accountable for achieving Sales targets for assignedchannels and associated partners.
Has direct responsibility for channel strategicand operational planning, includingestablishingand managing sales targets, investment budgets and gross margin targets for assigned key channels andpartners.
Work as part of and collaboratively with United States and Canada Area Leadership team to ensure cross-functional alignment for sustainable & profitable growth.
Work with regional branches to drive all 3M products on the shelf and accelerate pull-through sales with End-Users.
Drive sales growth with data driven activitiesutilizingPOS.
Approves assigned market development programs and budget deviations as well as overall resources to meet business objectives.
Creates solutions for complex and multi-faceted problems, which requires ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and strong analytical skills.
Adjusts sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions for assigned key channel partners.
Influences external decision makers at the highest account level.
Builds strong customer relationships and leads negotiations of major contracts.
Coordinates with the Commercial Center on sales reporting, business intelligence, sales analytics, customer master data, indirect data processing (point of sale and charge backs), customer relationship management, sales prospecting, etc.
Works with marketing, technical, supply chain, and distribution management to ensure efficient service to customers.
Your Skills and Expertise
(at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Five (5) years of combined experience working with ownership of a channel partner and/or key account responsibility in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
MBA degree is preferred.
Marketing experience with promotional program development with and through channel partners.
Expert/master knowledge and experience with key account management and channel sales/marketing in a private, public, government or military environment
Possess broad knowledge of multiple related disciplines. Comprehensive knowledge of 3M’s global strategy, business areas, structure, and organization, as well as of the external market (competitors, trends, etc.)
Proven experience working with 3M subsidiary and Area Regional management.
Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing point of sales information to recommend promotional growth programs to a channel partner.
Understanding of distribution/buying group rebates and merchandising plans.
