Your role and responsibilities

Application Consultant, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US (Up to 100% telecommuting permitted):

  • Provide senior level mainframe programming, analysis, and system technical support experience for active complex enterprise level projects.
  • Assign, track, and review project tasks related to mainframe modernization.
  • Provide mentorship on tools and technologies in relation to mainframe modernization to carrying out responsibilities within the assigned project.
  • Integrate existing complex and specialized legacy state enterprise systems with modern enterprise systems.
  • Support and analyze, design, develop, and test interfaces with the enterprise applications.
  • Work on interfaces and convert existing data content to new data configuration formats, including creating special data transformations and configuration routines.
  • Create functional, operational and interfacing code logic in Cobol, Java, Assembler.
  • Analyze code for modularization, decommissioning, and refactoring.
  • Utilize: Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL), Programming Language One (PL/I), Database 2 (Db2), Information Management System (IMS), Customer Information Control System (CICS), Job Control Language (JCL), Data Analytics & Reporting, Machine Learning.

Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Developer, Technical Lead, Consultant or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL), Programming Language One (PL/I), Database 2 (Db2), Information Management System (IMS), Customer Information Control System (CICS), Job Control Language (JCL), Data Analytics & Reporting, Machine Learning. $179982 to $230200 per year.
