As an Analyst within our Securities Services team, you will work with attorneys who support the business on transactional matters. Securities Services is a line of business with the firm’s Commercial & Investment Bank and provides custodial and fund administration services to global institutional clients. The role would be great if you are a self-starter who requires little supervision, have the ability to handle competing time demands, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. In this role, you would have extensive, independent contact with, and support of, business personnel within Securities Services, and J.P. Morgan more broadly, and opportunities for professional and career development.
Job responsibilities
- Reviewing, identifying, analyzing, and escalating issues raised in non-disclosure agreements and leading related negotiations
- Tracking escalations and ensuring resolutions are timely provided
- Preparing execution documents
- Cataloging metadata from executed agreements
- Managing contract negotiation trackers
- Monitoring/tracking external counsel spend
- Managing and maintaining internal document storage databases
- Drafting correspondence to internal and external parties
- Providing support to special projects across the Securities Services line of business, and potentially, the firm’s other lines of business
- Performing legal research on a variety of issues
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities
- Law degree preferred; attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements, including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment
- Two years or more of analyst experience with a law firm or equivalent experience with an in-house legal department and/or in the financial services industry
- Fluency in English
- Working knowledge of legal research platforms such as Westlaw
- Strong PC skills (knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in team environments and work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Display strong analytical, organizational, time-management and communication skills
- Display initiative and self-direction including problem-solving
