We are seeking ato join the
Perthteam. In this role, you will:
- Lead and participate in control system engineering projects for our clients in the resources sector.
- Configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, install, and commission PLC hardware and software, HMIs, SCADA terminals/servers, and network and communications equipment, for control and safety applications, as part of the control systems integration scope of our clients in the resources, renewables, and power sector.
- Design, develop and implement control system solutions for mining, renewables, power, and infrastructure projects, including specifications for PLC/SCADA and instrumentation.
- Independently produce technical documentation including reports, specifications, drawings, and procedures.
- Participate in site visits and commissioning activities to ensure operability and proper design of the control systems.
- Apply working knowledge of relevant engineering standards to projects assigned.
- Contribute to winning work and delivering work for engineering projects led by other Jacobs teams.
- Demonstrate ongoing technical engineering competency and professional development.
- Contribute and lead quality assurance activities.
- Contribute to the Operational Sales process in conjunction with normal project delivery and, where applicable, project/client leadership activities, including sales/pursuit meetings, pre-sales activities, client management activities.
- Support development of junior engineers.
- Work with other engineers, designers and supervisors as required to support engineering project delivery.
Here's what you'll need
- Relevant Tertiary Degree, at least 10 years experience in Australian mining projects, and robust knowledge of Controls Systems standards and design practices.
- Significant and demonstrable experience in Rockwell Control / Compact Logix PLCs. Experience in Siemens and Schneider Electric PLCs is desirable.
- Relevant and demonstrable SCADA programming experience: CitectSCADA, GeoSCADA, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, Cimplicity.
- Industry experience with RTUs, communications, including fibre networks, ethernet networks, IP radio, and cellular.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and legacy protocols. Experience with Profibus and Profinet is desirable.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and develop control system detail design, including control systems architectures, control narratives, system specifications, etc.
- Experience with OT equipment including virtual server installations, database management, active directory management, and cybersecurity is highly desirable.
- Experience with Historian systems.
- Able to supervise and undertake designs for Control, Industrial Communications and SCADA systems projects.
- Experience with major clients in mining, renewables and power, especially in the WA context, would be highly regarded.
- Experience in an EPC project environment would be highly regarded.
- Experience in development of proposals for complex infrastructure clients desirable.
- Experience in Operational Technology (OT) and related cybersecurity desirable.
- Demonstrate eligibility to be a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia
