Solution Architect – Development Operations & Portfolio Management - DO and PM

The Solution Architect – DO&PM will design and lead technology solutions that enhance Development Operations, Portfolio Management, and end-to-end R&D execution. The role requires strong technical architecture skills, deep understanding of the pharmaceutical development lifecycle, and the ability to translate complex business needs into scalable system designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end architecture for DO&PM platforms, including portfolio management, planning, milestone tracking, and scenario modeling.
  • Design integrations between DO&PM tools and enterprise R&D systems (CTMS, RIM, Safety, Data Lakes, SAP, etc.).
  • Translate business requirements from Development, Program Management, Clinical Operations, and Finance into actionable technical designs.
  • Provide technical leadership through planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and hypercare.
  • Ensure solutions follow data governance, security, compliance, and validation standards.
  • Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, and vendor/partner coordination.
  • Support forecasting, KPI dashboards, resource planning, and asset visibility through robust data models and workflow automation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8–12+ years in technology roles, with ≥5 years in solution architecture.
  • Strong experience with portfolio management systems (Planisware, Veeva Development Cloud, Clarity, Project Online).
  • Expertise in integrations (APIs, middleware, ETL), data modeling, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Understanding of clinical development, program governance, resource planning, and R&D operational workflows.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or Life Sciences.
  • Certifications in Agile/Scrum, DevOps, or architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • Knowledge of GxP, validation, cybersecurity, and regulated environments.
