What You’ll Do
  • Lead and manage a team of fire protection engineers, fire suppression system designers, and fire alarm designers
  • Collaborate with CSA and MEP disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing teams, to design and integrate fire protection systems
  • Work closely with construction teams to provide technical guidance and resolve any on-site fire protection system issues
  • Ensure that all fire protection systems meet local, state, and national fire codes and standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), ensuring project compliance with applicable regulations
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and code compliance checks for fire protection systems
  • Manage and oversee the preparation of fire protection system design documents, calculations, specifications, hydraulic calculations and construction documents
  • Mentor and develop team members by providing leadership, training, and career development opportunities
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources for fire protection engineering projects
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in Fire Protection Engineering in the state of Texas
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fire protection engineering in large industrial, manufacturing, data center, or large commercial environments
  • In-depth knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA, ICC, local fire codes, related building codes and standards
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of fire suppression and fire alarm systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex fire protection system issues and provide innovative solutions
  • Proficiency in fire protection design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred experience with dry fire suppression systems and experience using Revit software
