Lead and manage a team of fire protection engineers, fire suppression system designers, and fire alarm designers
Collaborate with CSA and MEP disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing teams, to design and integrate fire protection systems
Work closely with construction teams to provide technical guidance and resolve any on-site fire protection system issues
Ensure that all fire protection systems meet local, state, and national fire codes and standards
Serve as the primary point of contact for authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), ensuring project compliance with applicable regulations
Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and code compliance checks for fire protection systems
Manage and oversee the preparation of fire protection system design documents, calculations, specifications, hydraulic calculations and construction documents
Mentor and develop team members by providing leadership, training, and career development opportunities
Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources for fire protection engineering projects
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent experience
Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in Fire Protection Engineering in the state of Texas
Minimum of 10 years of experience in fire protection engineering in large industrial, manufacturing, data center, or large commercial environments
In-depth knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA, ICC, local fire codes, related building codes and standards
Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
Experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of fire suppression and fire alarm systems
Ability to troubleshoot complex fire protection system issues and provide innovative solutions
Proficiency in fire protection design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred experience with dry fire suppression systems and experience using Revit software
