Job Summary
The successful candidate will have three key areas of responsibility:
Lead PayPal’s global community impact campaigns and programming across our Americas, EMEA and APAC regions—mobilizing and growing the employee volunteer community, supporting entrepreneurs and non-profits, and delivering service-learning initiatives in alignment with our broader social impact strategy
Leading a team of North America site-based communicat ors who develop, design, and execute employee engagement strategies for their respective locations within the region
Lead site communications and employee engagement for our two NY sites , our fourth largest combined site globally
Essential Responsibilities:
Volunteerism and Giving
Enhance and drive the Community Impact team’s core programming: (1) global campaigns, such as PayPal Impact Day, (2) Skills-based volunteering, and (3) Volunteer Leadership.
Design, manage, and scale employee volunteer programs—including skills-based, team-based, and virtual volunteering in close partnership with the Social Impact & Sustainability Team and in alignment with PayPal’s social impact strategy.
Establish annual plans, KPIs, and impact metrics to track volunteer engagement and outcomes..
Champion a culture of volunteerism across the organization, from executive leadership to front-line employees.
Identify opportunities to streamline messaging across channels, strengthen storytelling, and connect volunteers and prospective employee volunteers more deeply to PayPal’s mission and impact.
Recruit, coach, and support site-level Community Impact team leaders and mobilize employees to join local Community Impact teams at our sites and virtual communities.
Leverage data insights to build on successful programming and further grow volunteerism globally. Utilize impact results to communicate and showcase volunteer impact internally and externally.
Leverage digital tools to enable virtual volunteering, especially in remote and hybrid environments.
Partner with HR and L&D to integrate volunteerism into employee experience, onboarding, and leadership development. Find and tell compelling stories of impact that elevate PayPal’s purpose-driven reputation.
Support curation and promotion of employee giving opportunities and giving benefits, including PayPal’s matching gifts program.
Support annual and evergreen volunteerism storytelling in partnership with Social Impact & Sustainability communications and reporting colleagues.
In partnership with Corp Comms Social Team, maintain volunteer brand presence on social media with engaging, mission-aligned content that builds awareness and trust in PayPal’s commitment to Community Impact – across non-profits, entrepreneurs, and SMBs
People Leadership
Lead an existing team of three North America based site communicators, responsible for creating bespoke site engagement plans that drive employee participation, engagement, and overall advocacy for PayPal as an employer
Track, measure and report regional site programming impact and refine based on employee and key stakeholder feedback
Develop and unlock the potential in the team through coaching, mentoring, and other development offerings based on employee needs and career aspirations
NY Site Communications & Engagement
Develop and execute NY site specific programming that reflects the needs and preferences of the NY based employee population and aligns to the global engagement pillars
Establish strong relationships with ERG communities and Community Impact volunteers to drive community building through on-site programming
Lead all employee communications for the two NY sites to ensure employees are well-informed of programming and engagement opportunities, from meal offerings through leader hosted product launch Q&As, and more
Track, measure and report site programming impact and refine based on employee and key stakeholder feedback
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Proven track record of leading large-scale, global volunteerism or community engagement initiatives, and employee engagement programming
Experience in strengthening corporate cultures through community impact focus, mobilizing employees around community impact offerings, and communications for a dispersed and cross-functional audience
Experience with volunteer management software (e.g., Benevity, Deed, YourCause, Bright Funds)
Team leadership experience and ability to build and sustain a high performing team
Exceptional partnership and relationship building skills
Experience operating in a large, global organization
Knowledge and experience using AI to drive positive outcomes faster and more effectively
Proven ability to identify and manage organizational and cultural sensitivities and resolve conflicts skillfully; ability to maintain composure and operate effectively under pressure.
Comfort working cross-functionally to move work forward and solve problems collaboratively
A builder's mindset: energized by creating new ways of doing things from the ground up and continuously improving the existing processes and systems

The US national annual pay range for this role is $137,500 to $236,500P
