The Difference You Will Make:

This role is based in Australia (WA, ACT, NSW, SA, Victoria, Queensland)

Programme Management

  • Programme manage key initiatives including regulatory compliance projects, regulatory inquiries/investigations and other major key programmes.
  • Coordinate legal work streams within APAC Legal and serve as the central node to other cross functional stakeholders for key projects.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation to comply with new regulatory requirements, including registration documentation.

Consumer Disputes & Regulatory Investigations

  • Undertake investigation or coordinate with other teams to investigate or provide necessary data analytics.
  • Work closely with the Community Support team (i.e. customer service) to track and forecast cases.
  • Effectively manage the dockets for the consumer claim / small claims tribunals in the region.
  • Coordinate legal requests with other cross functional teams.

Other Areas

  • Undertake legal research.
  • Monitor developments in new laws and regulations.
  • Work with the Legal Operations team to create the knowledge management strategy and architecture.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the APAC Legal team.
  • Actively champion Airbnb’s mission, ethics and integrity.

Your Expertise:

  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant paralegal experience with law firms and MNCs, preferably in the tech / digital space.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised and able to track multiple workstreams in a complex matrixed environment.
  • Process driven and able to develop, implement, and manage processes and workflows.
  • Relational and highly collaborative with excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Adaptive and able to master internal tooling, including developing training and processes to enable efficient use of tools.
  • Able to identify areas of opportunity to improve efficiency and team cohesion, and take action to achieve results.
  • Self-starting, driven and able to work autonomously while prioritizing competing tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with all levels of the organization, and to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
